It is such a long time since I have posted..... I am ashamed. But
absolutbritish infected me with the wow bug and well, I am glad if I find time to do that. Anyway, the only reason I post today is that I just had some wonderful news: David Hewlett (Rodney McKay, Stargate Atlantis) was just announced to come to FedCon next year. i am so happy!
absolutbritish and I dreamed of this because we love his character so much but I never thought it would happen. And so quickly! There are some other amazing guests, I can hardly wait. I just hope they all really come!
( Benjamin Button )
It is a conspiracy! Really! They are following me and trying to ... I dunno what they want with me, but they are definitley following me! The white vans. Yesterday they were everywhere, no really!
absolutbritish saw them too. and I don't want to sound paranoid or something, but when I got home, there was a white van parked in front of our house! Today I'm in hiding. I'm much more clever than they are and so far there have been no incidents. Keep your eyes open. Trust noone!
Anyway, back to reality. Yesterday
absolutbritish and me watched Bolt. It is such a cute movie and I had to restrain myself from sqeeing too much. Cute dog and cool cat. and funny little hamster. Brilliant, absolute brilliant!
Bsg is back on again and more depressing than ever, so I switched to the old series and imagine my surprise: it is fun! Fun in BSG! I was stunned. I'm really enjoying it and very curious how they continued with the story. I did some icons of the new BSG series from episodes 410 and 411. Some are still a working process but you get the idea.
( bsg icons )
Some days ago I saw Underworld on TV. absolutbritish got the movie as a present ages ago, but I've never seen it and I doubt she has.
( Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (feb. 2009) )
New year and New Year’s resolutions: one entry a week or at least once a month!
What have I done this year? Watched the New Year’s concert, which this year was extremely nice, finally nice flower arrangements again, good film for the intermission, nice costumes for the ballets, good music perfectly conducted, “Farewell” symphony, 4th movement, by Haydn, they had a lot of fun doing that and it was much fun to watch. Rest of the day and next day recovery from too much alcohol and too little sleep.
Yesterday going for a walk and cinema (see under cut Australia), today church, cleaning flat, cooking,…
I think this year I almost already played more PSP than the whole last year. This is very atypical for me. Most of the time I get stuck with computer games or I loose interest, but Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony, has me gripped and so far I’ve not become stuck.
And I’ve started watching DS9 again last year, continuing it this year of course. I enjoy it more than ever since for the first time I’m really interested in all those political stories and problems.
And I have a lost of ideas for a story/book, but at this point I don’t want to say too much.
Going back further...
Last tuesday I went to see "Dark Knight" with
absolutbritish and another friend. When I got home I wrote this for my next lj entry:
Ok, last things first: I just finished watching the fourth season of Grey's Anatomy and after that I freaked out a little bit and then I was .... annoyed. Seriously!
( End of season 4 )
( thoughts and spoilers for season 5 )
( season 4 in general )
Well, I'm curious about the new season, I hope it's not annoying.
Warning about the trailers for season 5: there are many spoilers, big spoilers in there, so watch out!
As I said, last things first. GA today, sunday I watched "Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Kaspian" and I really liked it. I don't know the books that well, but in the first movie they really screwed the story up, so I didn't expect very much from the second movie. But as it turns out it is really good. i mean the special effects and music were just as brilliant as in the first movie, but the story isn't that complex, so I guess easier to do.
"You are a mouse!" *rofl* And that lion! That voice!
So, a very pleasant surprise and a very enjoyable movie.
Saturday I got to know the series "Jekyll"............ it is beyond words, you have to see it, to believe it. Absolutely, totally brilliant and James Nebitt is just a genius or as they say on the DVD cover, "The role he was born to play". How very true! And then over, just like that.
Ok, just a quick update as I've not written something in some time.
August is almost over again. And now there are still more things I have to write about: my holiday, my tutoring, still X.Files movie, Doctor Who, Spooks and Afterlife, Clone Wars, horses and riding....
You might think : either write about it or don't at all, but don't keep going on about all the things you want to write about. Well, maybe you're right, but I do want to write about all those things in my journal. It's just right now I really don't fancy sitting in front of a computer, writing, doing stuff. I'm so lazy right now, in very deep holiday mode.
I prefer reading Harry Potter, which this time around I thoroughly enjoy, or watch something, or day dream, which is a very nice occupation for holidays. Tutoring and restoring the my nerves afterwards takes all the energy I can muster right now.
So sorry
There are so many things I still need to write about: the end of Doctor Who, the course for old music in Großmürbisch, RingCon DVD project and more... I hope I get to do that soon.
Anyway, today just about today. In the morning I drove with my mum to Rust/Neusiedlersee. We were invited to a100th birthday party. It is amazing. That woman is still so alive, still works pro bono and is active in the community. The only thing, she always says, that don't work so good anymore is her eyesight, so she has trouble recognizing people. But if you tell her who you are, she immediately knows who you are. Amazing.
Now I'm home, re-watching the first season of Torchwood. The first episodes aren't that bad. I remember now that I liked them when I first watched them, just everything that came later was so bad, it made me forget all the good stuff. Next episode is Cyberwoman. I'll fast-forward through that one, only watch the personal stuff. What a stupid episode.
Funny, just recently I read a magazine, in which they did a review of Torchwood S2 and they said something like: How can it be possible, that a series that thought Cyberwoman was a good idea, produce such a brilliant second season?! I thought that was hilarious, because I also just loved the second season and wondered how the first season could be such rubbish and now every episode (one exception!) just brilliant!
Ok, plan for the evening is hopefully opera. It's an open-air thing and we actually had tickets for yesterday. But the weather was so bad, it was moved to today. I just hope the weather holds, because it is the last possible day. We'll see.
And, most importantly: today the movie comes to the cinemas. If you don't know which movie I'm talking about, you must have skipped my last entries. for those people: I'm talking about X-Files: I want to believe! I'm going to watch it on monday, so no spoilers, please. I’m excited and nervous. And she has long hair!
And so I will end with my usual mantra: I just hope they don't mess it up!
